Deborah Levitzky

Deborah has extensive experience in the field of education. As an educational consultant her clients have included Teach for America, Green Dot Public Schools, Leeds Global Partners and several independent charter schools. From 2006 - 2010 Deborah was the Chief Content Officer for the Effective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC) at New Leaders for New Schools. EPIC is a web-based professional development platform highlighting the work of high-gain schools. Prior to New Leaders, Deborah served as Director of the Office of New and Small Schools in Region 2 in the Bronx and an Associate Director in the Office of New Schools in the NYC Department of Education As a founding member of the Public Service Corps she taught and oversaw high school students in a workforce development program. Deborah was a School Designer with Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound, supporting founding teams of ELOB-partner schools and facilitating the development of curricula.  

Deborah holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, a MSA of Education Administration from Trinity College and a BA from Barnard College. She was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs. Deborah currently serves on the board of exalt youth, an internship and educational program for court-involved youth as well as the Green Dot NYC Charter School, a successful high school in the South Bronx for which she authored the charter application.
